Description: Joe Siebert purchased the Massey Ferguson 1130 tractor in the fall of 1972 from Davis Farm Supplies Dealer, Jerry Davis. The purchase price was $10,800 and included a cab but no air conditioner. As far as Joe knows, this Massey Ferguson 1130 was the first tractor in Ste. Genevieve County equipped with a cab.
At that time, Joe Siebert farmed with his brother Bill and his Dad Joe Sr. They farmed a lot of ground together and raised cattle and hogs. The Massey Ferguson 1130 was used to pull a 5ft or 6ft bottom plow, a 16ft disc, an 18ft field cultivator and a 10ft off-set disc. The tractor was also used to pull a Massey Ferguson 260 Silage Chopper and complete various other farm tasks. In 1977, Joe sold the tractor to Frank Ruppert of Illinois.
Around 2015, Joe was able to track down his Massey Ferguson 1130. Frank Ruppert had passed away, but his son Frank Jr. still had the tractor. Frank Jr. didn't want to sell it because he was still using it for light chores. In 2017, Joe's family contacted Frank again and were convince Frank to sell them the Massey Ferguson 1130 back. Joe's family gave the tractor to him for his '70th' birthday. Joe fixed everything that was wrong with the tractor, and Tim Joggerst painted it. Joe removed the cab and installed a Iron Bull ROPS and canopy on the Massey Ferguson 1130. Since then Joe has also restored a MF1100.
